One of the most common questions Facebook users ask is how do you make a fan page on facebook? I'm going to teach you how and it's so easy to do. Fan pages are becoming quite the hot trend amongst businesses, networkers, and anyone that wants to create an online presence. Instead of sending people to websites, people are now sending prospects to fan pages instead.
I highly recommend looking at other peoples pages first before you make a fan page on facebook so that you can see what you'd like yours to look.
When you're ready to make a fan page on facebook, go to Google and type in "fan page." The first result that pops up says "Create a Page." Once you click on it you'll be directed to create a page.
The first thing that you want to do is determine whether you want to make a fan page on facebook for a * local business, * brand, product or organization, or *artist, band, or public figure.
Now it's time to choose a name. Make sure that you choose your name wisely because you can't ever change it. I know it totally stinks but what can you do. That's why you want to choose your name wisely from the start.
You could always create a new page down the road but that could be a real pain once you start getting fans on the one that you've already created.
After you've chosen your name check off the facebook terms and conditions tab and click "Create Official Page."
On the next screen you'll see "Create a Facebook Account." If you are the only person on the planet that still doesn't have an account yet then you'll need to create one. Otherwise, login to your account.
Step 1: Upload a photo. Make sure that you choose a photo that's clear, professional, and portrays a good image of yourself or business. You only get one chance to make a first impression.
Step 2: Invite your friends. If you have an account already then you can start inviting friends to your page.
*I would highly suggest inviting friends at a moderate pace. Don't go inviting hundreds of friends at a time. This could cause facebook to suspend your account. I personally recommend inviting about 50 friends a day to be safe.
Step 3: Tell your fans. This is where you can import contact lists or login to your email account and invite your contacts to become your fan.
Step 4: Post status updates. This is where you want to be fun and creative. If you're promoting a business then make sure that you aren't too spammy. It's important to keep a healthy balance between business posts and personal posts.
Step 5: Promote your page on your website. Make sure to add a "like" box to your blog or website. You should also add links to your fan page on email signatures and other social media profiles as well.
Remember that the key is to get as many fans as possible and the only way to do this is to promote your page in as many places as possible.
Step 6: Set up your mobile phone. This is where you can set up your cell phone to receive status updates and upload photos.
Now the key is to get a ton of fans. This is where you need to get creative and proactive and get your fan page in front of as many people as possible.
